Knitting enables women to earn from home and fit their work around domestic duties and childcare. As well as fair pay, safe working conditions and opportunities to up-skill and train as group leaders, knitters also receive a profit share to help them send their children to school.

doug kennedyDoug Kennedy has had a lifelong interest in landscape, natural history and ecology and has explored far and wide, taking photographs of the landscapes and wildlife. These have provided the material for five photo-books exploring English regions. His latest book, is “Wildlife Of The Pennine Hills” which describes the main habitat types over the entire Pennine range and the organisms that live there. Doug will be showing some of his framed photographs taken in Buckinghamshire in the gallery. In the market place you can find his books and along with three Ruby Long Dog books for young children by Lindsey Kennedy.

tipsy cat designsTracey Marr is a self-taught artist based in Oxfordshire. The natural world provides inspiration for her designs in watercolours, crochet and jewellery. She established TipsyCat Designs in 2019 inspired by new techniques and ideas in beadwork and silver wirework. She is fascinated by the Japanese art of Amigurumi (crocheted animals), combining them with her love of painting, and watching the small characters take form as they are made! Her paintings of birds and animals are available as original watercolours, prints, and greetings cards.
